Acceptable use policy

Updated October 3, 2026

This policy protects Otherwiser customers, their visitors and the hosting infrastructure. It applies to sites, applications, files, databases, mail, network activity and access tools provided by the service.

Lawful content and activity

Host only content and software you are entitled to use. Do not use the service for illegal content, infringement, fraud, phishing, exploitation, unlawful surveillance or the distribution of stolen data. Do not upload or distribute malware.

Network and account security

Do not attempt to access another customer’s account, files, database, credentials or runtime. Do not bypass isolation, resource limits or access controls, or use the service for attacks, unauthorized scanning, credential theft or denial of service.

Do not run open proxies, open mail relays or services intended to conceal abusive activity. Security testing of systems you do not own requires the owner’s authorization.

Mail and communication

Do not send spam, deceptive messages or unsolicited bulk mail. Protect mail credentials and investigate compromised applications that send unauthorized messages. Follow the requirements of the receiving network and applicable communication laws.

Resource use

Stay within the storage, RAM, site and runtime limits of your plan. Cryptocurrency mining and workloads designed to exhaust shared infrastructure are not allowed. Ordinary traffic or an application error is a reason to investigate and adjust the site, not to bypass a limit.

Use the monitoring and error logs to investigate excessive load. Contact support if your legitimate workload needs resources that the available plans cannot provide.

Reports and response

Report suspected abuse or a security issue to info@otherwise.solutions. Include the domain, time, evidence and a way to contact you. Do not send other customers’ secrets or unnecessary personal data.

We investigate reports and may isolate the affected service while an active threat is addressed. Restrictions are directed at the activity involved. Where possible and legally permitted, we notify the account holder and explain what is needed to restore service.
